AMBUCS™ is a charitable service organization consisting
of a diverse group of men and women dedicated to creating mobility
and independence for people with disabilities.
Members fulfill
the organization’s mission by:
- Donating
AmTrykes®, therapeutic tricycles, to people with disabilities
- Providing
scholarships for therapists
- Refurbishing
computers for donation to disabled people
- Building
ramps for disabled people
- Providing
community service
As Indian
Valley AMBUCS™ our primary mission is the AmTryke®.
This therapeutic tricycle is a wonderful tool for developing gross
motor skills, strengthening muscles and increasing range of motion
in children with cerebral palsy, muscular atrophy and amputees;
but is not limited to the aforementioned. This tricycle not only
gives a child freedom of movement and builds self-esteem, but
improves coordination while making exercise fun. Every child who
receives an AmTryke® is given much more than just a tricycle;
they are given freedom to interact with friends and family. This
tricycle enables physically disabled children to participate in
neighborhood activities, while breaking down the barriers with
other children.
